By implementing environmentally sensitive business processes, PizzaSalad is helping to create an ecologically sustainable restaurant industry.

Our actions for a healthier environment:
- Bio-degradable containers and packaging
- Corn starch salad containers - We serve our food in plastic-like containers made from 100% corn starch that decompose in landfills in only 50 days and 100% recycled paper products
- Compostable garbage bags - All our garbage bags and carry-out bags are fully decomposable within 90 days
- Pizza boxes - PizzaSalad uses 100% corrugated, recycled pizza boxes printed with earth-friendly inks.
- Plant-based utensils and beverage containers - PizzaSalad uses only 100% plant-based napkins, plates, forks & knives, cups, lids & straws. All are 100% bio-degradable and compostable.
- Eco-friendly building materials - All construction materials used for our restaurant and kitchen interiors are either of reused or recycled eco-friendly materials such as:
- Bamboo counters and tables - Bamboo is 100% naturally grown, without human assistance. Bamboo is 100% sustainable, it is also naturally antibacterial & Bamboo fiber is 100% biodegradable. As the fastest growing plant in the world, bamboo grows to its maximum height in about 3 months and reaches maturity in 3-4 years. It spreads rapidly across large areas. Because of this, bamboo is known to improve soil quality in degraded and eroded areas of land
- Aluminum panels - Aluminium is practically the perfect recyclable material. It makes up approximately 7 percent of the Earth's crust & is most familiarly used in the manufacture of soft drink cans. Out of the most common recyclable materials that clutter up our landfills: glass, paper, metals, cardboard, plastics, aluminium is one of the materials that is endlessly 100% recyclable. Recycles well and suffers no loss in quality when recycled
- Polypropylene chairs - Manufactured without emissions harmful to the earth. Polypropylene can be recycled, incinerated, or land filled without any harm to the environment. When burnt, polypropylene will only give off water vapor and carbon dioxide, which is converted by photosynthesis.
- Organic Landscaping - PizzaSalad’s outdoor patio plants, flowers, and trees are 100% organically landscaped.
- Minimal to no print advertising - PizzaSalad does minimal to no print advertising. We do not believe in printing thousands of coupons, newsletters, flyers that will end up in a pile of mass mail. Instead, you can expect our advertising communications to be in electronic or other such earth-friendly formats. - Hybrid vehicles - PizzaSalad delivers only in our hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles
- Energy-smart equipment - PizzaSalad uses only Energy Star and Energy Management Certified restaurant equipment. For instance, our natural gas oven requires lower temperatures to cook and recycles air from heater to product, conserving energy
- Eco-friendly chemicals - All our cleaning supplies, solutions, and processes are non-toxic to the earth and come in “smart” packages
- 100% Organic uniforms - All PizzaSalad personnel apparel is made of only organic cotton and printed using earth-friendly inks and print processes
- Low-energy lighting - Using CF (Compact Fluorescent) bulbs in our stores which saves on energy consumption
- Local suppliers - We rely on local organic suppliers for our produce, reducing our dependence on fuel-guzzling cross-country deliveries as well as supporting local farmers
- Recycling - PizzaSalad encourages our customers to recycle by providing easily accessible recycle bins beside all our general waste baskets as well as separating our own waste to ensure maximum recycle ability
- Healthy eating – In addition to being America’s first pizza restaurant with a menu wholly comprised of USDA certified organic ingredients, we co-operate with local area schools to promote healthy eating among school children
